A solo emcee signed to E-40's Sick Wid It Records, A-1 first appeared on 1997's Southwest Riders compilation and in 1999 released his debut Mash Confusion. His style is hyped and rowdy, with energetically chanted choruses, deep basslines and a whirlwind of busy keyboard riffs.
