One of the most celebrated, and imitated, emcees in all of hip-hop, Mobb Deep's Prodigy has been dropping gems since 1993. He and his crime-rhyme partner Havoc revolutionized NYC thug-rap with their second album The Infamous, showering listeners with a hail of ice-cold street stories and sparse, murderous beats. P's ultra-graphic storytelling and raw, haunting flow set the standard for criminal-minded mic-burners from the East, expanding on the intricacies of trife life with every release. In 2000, after four Mobb records, he released his solo debut H.N.I.C. (Head Nigga In Charge), featuring the Alchemist-produced heater "Keep It Thoro." Prodigy also wrote the film Murda Muzik, a gritty crime story filmed in and around Queensbridge, and is putting on new talent, like Bars & Hooks, through the Mobb's independent label Infamous Records.
