Born on May 8, 1911 in Hazlehurst, MS, Robert Johnson has become one of the biggest legends in American blues music. Being a prolific guitarist, a singer and a songwriter, some of his hits included “Love in Vain”, “Crossroads”, “Sweet Home Chicago” and “Stop Breaking Down”. These numbers became timeless classics when covered by the Rolling Stones, Steve Miller, Led Zeppelin and Eric Clapton, among others. Though he died in 1938, at the age of 27 (he was poisoned by a girlfriend), the body of work Johnson has left behind him is still considered the peak of the genre.
