Shayne Ward is a popular U.K. performer who won the 2005 televised pop series "The X-Factor". The Manchester-born, anglo-Irish heart-throb started out performing at pubs and weddings in a band called Destiny. During the TV series, he was mentored by Louis Walsh. He won the finals by a narrow margin before some 9.2 million television viewers. Ward's first single "That's My Goal" came out shortly before Christmas 2005, and it became the third fastest-selling single in history. Ward's second single, "No Promises", reached number two, and his third piece "Stand by Me" went to #14.
