Steve Gadd
The drummer Steve Gadd was born in 1945 in Rochester, USA. He started playing the drums at a very tender age and is rumoured to have jammed with Dizzy Gillespie at age 11. Gadd has been a sought-after studio drummer since the early seventies, supplying grooves for musicians such as Chick Corea, Al DiMeola and The Manhattan Jazz Quintet, among others. At home in all styles, Gadd formed his own outfit, the Gadd Gang, in the eighties. They released an album titled “Gadd About” in 1986. Further offerings by the Gadd Gang included “Here and Now” and “The Gadd Gang” (both 1991).
