Toby Keith

Music > Country > Toby Keith

Toby Keith first gained national recognition with the tongue-in-cheek No. 1 "Should've Been a Cowboy" in 1993. Along with a slew of like-minded country artists, he was a part of the neo-traditionalist movement that was intent on wresting the radio waves from the slick pop-product pushers of the time. Over the course of his ensuing career he's been no stranger to the Top-10, culling a string of New Country hits that feature his deep vocals and decidedly uptown yet tasteful arrangements.
