Three years after announcing his retirement from the music scene for a quieter life, Marshall Mathers is back in the studio and working on his new album set to be called Relapse. The news seeped into the stratosphere via Slim Shady’s radio station, Shade 45, with the man himself saying he’d heard a lot of rubbish about the record’s name and content. It seems that Eminem tried to immerse himself in a life of leisure with perhaps the odd spot of weeding, but got a bit bored…
Relapse is set to be the rapper’s first release since 2005’s greatest hits album Curtain Call. Eminem’s last original album Encore was a year earlier in 2004, so fans are smiling broadly at the thought of the maestro returning. It seems he’s not the only one to be doing so either, with both 50 Cent and Dr Dre having new records in the works, with Fiddy’s due out in time for the Christmas rush on December 9th.
Talking about Eminem recently, 50 Cent commented: “Even though he tries to relax and stay home, it’s impossible for him to stay in. A lot of material he wrote prior to this is being scrapped. He’s got to feel like it’s just happened, it’s new and it’s current. That’s just how he is creatively as an artist.”
