Take That: In Pictures

Confirmation of Take That as the nation’s favourite was officially rubber-stamped at the end of last week, when it was revealed that their recent album The Circus had galloped past the one million sales mark in just 19 days. It didn’t surpass Oasis’s record of 11 days for Be Here Now, but it is now the fastest-selling album of the millennium. In celebration, RealMusic Blog thought we’d take a look back at the lads’ stellar career, including the early days with Robbie until they eventually evolved into the lean, mean foursome they are today…

And lo it came to pass that 2008 ran out of new months to call its own and so was forced to take its bow. RealMusic Blog is still scratching its head wondering where the year went - we’re sure it was only March about a week ago - but what a great 12 months its been. RealMusic Blog has been alive for a whole year in January which means we can nearly take our stabilizers off - woo hoo! Alexandra Set For Christmas No.1

After her JLS-slaying performance on Saturday, this year’s X Factor winner Alexandra Burke’s debut single release Hallelujah has been confirmed as the fastest-selling download single in history across the whole of Europe. The single sold over 105,000 copies in the UK on download only on Sunday, smashing the previous record of 82,000 in one day achieved by Leona Lewis with her debut release A Moment Like This. It’s now thought to have cantered past the 150,000 mark, but the twist in the tale is that it’s not just Alex’s version that’s getting people download-happy - Jeff Buckley’s 1994 cover of Hallelujah looks set to crash into the top 10 too, with Leonard Cohen’s original on target to break the top 40 also…
