After a massive rift that saw the band fighting in court over song royalties, it seems the comeback bug has hit Spandau Ballet as they today announced their plans to reform and host a series of gigs across the country. Lead singer Tony Hadley confirmed that he wouldn’t be trying to squeeze back into his gold shiny suit and added that the whole band are well up for the reunion: “Time is a great healer and we’re all on good terms now…”

Wouldn’t you just know it? No sooner do we introduce the regular(ish) feature that is Music Video Lounge than Google throws its toys out of its pram and bans us from watching music videos on YouTube. Described as ‘putting the soul back into the Emerald Isle’, 2009 looks set to be a busy year for Laura Izibor, the Irish gem who at 21 has already been signed for years and opened for James Brown and The Roots. Comparisons have been made with Roberta Flack and Candi Staton and Laura is currently touring with John Legend. RealMusic Blog caught up with the fledgling star on a sunny afternoon last week and in between scoffing M&S Extremely Choclatey Mini-Bites, she told us in her Dublin lilt about her new album and single, becoming famous and what it was like opening for Aretha Franklin…
