This week’s news round-up is spinning on a dance axis, wearing Kylie-style hotpants and silver-glittered cheeks for added effect. Which cheeks, we’re not saying. This time we’ve got news of this week’s Camden Crawl, along with fresh-off-the-press news of two dance events taking place in the capital this year. All this, plus Moby’s new album and download. Click below to read on…

We’re going in date order right? Only four teeny-tiny days till the Camden Crawl. So if you’re partial to queueing up in this particularly fancy part of London, dodging Amy and her cohorts as you go on Friday and Saturday, there are a stellar bunch of acts waiting to entertain you. Friday’s highlights feature the Karen O-fronted Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Enemy, Echo & The Bunnymen, Filthy Dukes and Hockey; Saturday heralds the arrival of The Fall, Little Boots, The View, Kasabian, VV Brown, 808 State and the venerable Billy Bragg. The event takes place over April 24th & 25th in 40 venues across Camden. For tickets and more: www.thecamdencrawl.com

Next up is news of two shindigs taking place this summer at London’s Victoria Park. Now in its 7th year, Lovebox, Groove Armada’s annual capital two-dayer is taking place over the weekend of July 18th & 19th. We’ve had news of London’s premier festival before with Duran Duran, N.E.R.D., Fat Freddy’s Drop and Groove Armada already confirmed, but now the line-up’s fattening up and is also set to include the infamous New York Dolls, Manc rockers Doves, Noah And The Whale, the fantabulous VV Brown as well as Brit-winning Florence And The Machine and the frankly brilliant Ladyhawke. All that, a big wheel and guaranteed love too, honest. We got proposed to last year and the person wasn’t even that drunk. Last year’s festival was the highlight of the capital summer, so if you fancy some of 2009’s action, buy your tickets at: www.lovebox.net

A mere two weeks after Victoria Park’s grass has had a chance to recover, the arena is staging another huge summer event, inviting Tiesto to perform supported by none other than electro whizzkid Calvin Harris. Tiesto was voted No.1 DJ in the world by Mixmag - but only No.2 by DJ Magazine, so make your own decisions - and he’s mixed things up for the likes of Britney Spears, The Killers, Justin Timberlake and even Calvin Harris. The man’s pockets are bulging with awards and sell-out tours, so July 31st should be a special day in the borough of Tower Hamlets. We bet Tiesto always had a boyhood dream of playing there. Expect loud music, dazzling lights and other yet-to-be-announced support acts. If you fancy trancing yourself up this summer, tickets are selling for £36-£66 at: www.ticketmaster.co.uk or www.ticketline.co.uk

Last up this week, great news for dinner party hosts - there’s a new Moby album on the horizon! Entitled Wait For Me, the long-player is due out on June 29th and the debut track, a moody and contemplative instrumental called Shot In The Back Of The Head is available as a free download from www.moby.com. Get downloading and cooking now.
