After rocking its way across America, Jonas Brothers hysteria has rolled into the UK with their hit single S.O.S. The Jonas Brothers are now leading the way for a Disney classic medley of tween rocksters, hyped up by the growing popularity of 3D feature films. Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience is a Disney-buffed, but nonetheless, light and cheery documentary following the three boys on their Burning Up concert tour. Their boyish charms and infectious music will have you (embarrassingly) bopping in your seat, thankful that you’re in a cinema, but not surrounded by your peers. The Concert Experience an unexpected and dramatic step in a musical direction for director Bruce Hendricks, as his previous producing roles were on Pearl Harbour and the widely popular Pirates Of the Caribbean trilogy.

Disney have caught the 3D bug and the Jonas Brothers rockumentary promises to be more than a little personal, revealing snippets of a breathtaking teenage life. Expectedly, a glimpse of Joe Jonas (the face of the Jonas clan) stripping backstage causes shrieks and giggles from the young audience, but so does every Jonas close-up and Jonas-related item thrown at the camera and into the audience. The boys are embarrassingly young, but undeniably talented. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas hurl themselves across an illuminated stage, just out of reach of shaking and swooning fans clawing for a slice of Brother. Between flying kicks, a fire show and dousing their excitable fans, the Jonas Brothers manage to perform their new and catchy song Burnin’ Up, a duet with both Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift (who immediately commands a greater stage presence with her Kyliesque mini dress and chart-topping singles), and rejuvenate Shania Twain’s I’m Gonna Getcha Good.

As you trail behind the burley wingman ‘Big Rob‘ and his early morning high spirits, you’re let into the Jonas Brothers’ teen-pop fantasy world. You share cheeky jokes over the breakfast table, a sharp contrast to their normally wild lifestyle of camera flashes and blurred stream of screaming girls. The documentary follows the boys as they carry out their ‘daily routines’ of lounging in dark limousines, teasing their fans from the windows of skyscraper-high hotels, and being welcomed and adored by dedicated fans at Times Square. But this backstage pass is for tweens only. Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience is recommended for hardened JB fans who know every word of the debut album from the trio A Little Bit Longer and the immensely respected and patient parents willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater-Jonas-good.
——
The follow on from Jonas Brothers madness and likely to rock harder, is Hendricks’ Hannah Montana/Mylie Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour, featuring the energised daughter of American singer Billy Ray Cyrus. The climax to your 3D Concert Experience is a squeaky-Disney-clean montage of Jonas Brothers best bits, and of course, more screaming, uncontrollably adoring fans. If you are the proud parent of such a fan and can’t quite face the idea of a Jonas-themed day trip - their album blasting out of your car windows to and from the cinema, then you can always buy the DVD (due for release on 30th June 2009). That is, if your kids haven’t worked themselves into a swooning frenzy before that. Going to the cinema to watch your favourite band play in 3D won’t replace the buzz of a live performance, pushing against other fans for a better view, or peeling your shoes from a tacky beer-soaked carpet when the lights come back up, but Disney are happy to suggest a rockumentary as an alternative.

Synopsis
——
To get that little bit closer to your favourite musically-gifted, pretty-boy trio the Jonas Brothers, Disney is offering you the chance to squeal like a true fan at the rockumentary Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. The Brothers’ most popular songs played in front of a wild audience, featuring duets with Demi Levato and Taylor Swift, a hosing-down and behind the scenes peeks at their star-dusted world. It’s a cheaper, cosier opportunity than seeing the Jonas Brothers live, for their youngest fans still needing parental supervision.
